A Long Expected Contest(ALEC) is a contest for Tolkien fandom writers. It will include stories that are rated G-NC17 and can be Slash, Het, or General. In other words - all genre's of the Tolkien fandom! Stories do not necessarily have to include canon characters but must take place somewhere within Tolkien's world as described in The Silmarillion, The Hobbit, or The Lord of the Rings. * Each month a new topic/prompt/challenge will be posted.
* Writers have until the announced deadline to write a fiction in response to the topic/challenge. The deadline will be posted with the topic.
* The story cannot be a WIP and must be less than 10,000 words unless part of the challenge/topic is the length, then those rules would apply.
* The three categories of the contest are Slash, Het, and General. WRITERS PLEASE NOTE:
The email address to submit your entries has changed to: mbumpus_99@yahoo.com (not a link) Please adjust your addressbooks.
ALSO NOTE:
Submissions must have "ALEC Submission" in the subject of the submissions email so as not to trip spam filters. These changes are reflected in the updated Rules and Guidelines. * Disclaimer * All of the stories posted at this site are derivative works of J.R.R. Tolkien's masterpieces. There is no monetary gain to be had, nor would any be accepted. All rights to these stories revert solely to the authors at the end of the contest period. |
