But what is to say the Silvan folk wanted such rule? And to what lengths would those rulers go to make their realm great? Throughout the Third Age, the Nandor of Lórien (who are said to have "regretted the incoming of the Elves from the West") were slowly assimilated by the colonising Sindar until, by the time of the Ring War, their own language and culture had disappeared. Perhaps this was intentional.
